FAQs

The team at Aurora Naturopathic believes in educating you about your options. Most of the time, we’re talking about getting your body healthy. In this section, we share how you can work with us and with your insurance company to create a path to optimal health. Here are the most commonly asked questions about insurance:

Are your services covered by insurance?

Call your insurance company and ask. At this time we do not process insurance claims. The state of Arizona is not required by law to cover care and most companies do not voluntarily cover it.

There are some companies that will reimburse for naturopathic care. We can also provide a form that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement of services.

Which form do you give patients to submit to their insurance?

We provide a universal health insurance claim form (HCFA) to you at each of your visits. This form can then be submitted to your insurance. We do this as a courtesy and do our best to make sure the form is coded properly.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards including Health Savings Accounts (HSA). If you have submitted an insurance claim that is accepted and a check is sent to us, we will credit your account for future visits or send you a reimbursement check.

Can I use my flex spending account to pay for services or supplements?

Maybe. Call your account holder and ask of naturopathic services are covered and the requirements to submit a claim for reimbursement.

What should I expect to get back from the insurance company?

Most often the claims from your visits to our office are counted toward your out-of-network deductible. This deductible must be met before your insurance company will pay for services by a doctor outside the network. After the deductible is met, you will be reimbursed for claims submitted. The amount of reimbursement is dependent on the plan.

How do I know what my out-of-pocket deductible is?

Call your insurance company to discuss naturopathic coverage and out-of-pocket deductible.

Will my insurance cover labs or other tests you order?

It depends. If you have an HMO or Medicare plan, labs and other tests are not covered. If you have a PPO plan, labs and other services may be covered. Keep in mind, there is never a guarantee of coverage whether you’re here or at an MD.

We offer an affordable cash rate for labs. This may even be less than what you would pay with insurance. Ask us about it when you visit.

I see value in naturopathic care, what can I do to get services covered by insurance?

Call your insurance company and tell them you want naturopathic care covered. If your plan is through an employer, tell the person or people who make insurance coverage decisions at the company.

Health insurance is highly regulated through the government. Tell your local, state, and national legislators that you want naturopathic care covered.
